Comparing the Metaverse in 2006 with the Web in 1996

I have always thought this would be a valuable study, and Hamlet has done it with a post today here:  http://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2008/01/the-metaverse-i.html

Of course, there will be many who will argue that the comparisons aren’t valid.  But, here’s another thing I’ve always wanted to do…  start a ‘doubter’s list’.   Lets take down the names of every metaverse naysayer and revisit the list in 5 or 10 year.  I could start the list by adding quite a few of my friends and colleagues…
